Way Too Long

I can't believe how long it has been since we posted. It's understandable given how chaotic things have been around here but it makes me sad. This blog is not only a wonderful way to keep family up-to-date on all that is Owen but also serves as a pseudo journal/scrapbook. And when life is the most chaotic, is when we should be posting because that means stuff is happening. So we're going to try and catch up on what has happened and try our best to keep up with what is going on.

I haven't even had an opportunity to post photos from our trip to Seattle. I have quite a few that I want to post but to start, I will throw up a few of my favorites from the week.

Owen could have hung out with grandpa and watched the planes for hours.

Tell me more about your boat, grandma. Grandma's boat.

Some Dick's after the Duck.

Have you ever met a baby and thought to yourself, "what a good guy?" Well, you will when you meet Jackson. He's a good guy. He's got your back.

Owen and his crazy uncle CJ. If/when Owen gets his first tattoo, I have a feeling CJ is going to be with him.

We had a wonderful trip. I couldn't have asked for a better one, except for Ed to have been there also. I just wish I could have made it to SteveFest. That would have been the perfect trip. Maybe next year.

Guess Who's Looking At The Camera Again

Okay, we went through a spell where Owen wasn't very keen on looking at the camera. He's still not awesome at it, but these shots prove he's getting better. Owen, Carrie, Ron and Debby were getting ready to take off this morning and Carrie got these shots. I'm surprised at how much he's bringing out a variety of expressions we don't usually see.

It's kind of pathetic, they've been gone for about three hours and I am already off task looking at photos of Owen because I miss him. It didn't help that as I was dropping them off at the airport, he got upset when he realized I wasn't going with them and was saying, "come on, daddy, come on" as I was getting back into the car. That was a little rough.

Happy 4th of July

Ron and Debby are in town for the week so we were able to celebrate the fourth of July together. Because it's so hot, there are not many festivities going on so we decided to hang out by the pool and bbq. We could (kind of) see the fireworks display that Tempe put on so we sat outside and watched those. (Or watched the "booms," as Owen called them.) Debby bought Owen some pop-its so Owen got a taste of the fun one can have with fireworks.

See that face? That is the face of a little boy who just realized how fun it is to scare the crap out of someone (aka grandma) by throwing pop-its in their direction. I used to be sad that fireworks had become illegal but now that I'm a parent, I'm pretty thankful I don't have to deal with my son shooting bottle rockets off at his friends.
