4th Birthday Party (and 500th post)

It seems appropriate that our 500th post is corresponding with Owen's birthday party post. 500 posts! Not too shabby, even with the posting slow down that has occurred this year.

Owen had a very nice 4th birthday. My mom and dad were in town, and four of Owen's buddies from his new preschool plus two of his good buddies from his old daycare, came over to celebrate his big day. Owen was in a great mood all day long. It was really incredible, with all the excitement, he never crashed. I think it just shows how happy he was.

The birthday spread. Notice the racecar apple/grape snacks. Thank you, Pintrest!

Ed made a racecar track out of lumber left over from the shadow box. It was a definite hit.

The party favor was a racecar helmet that the kids could decorate with stickers.

We drew a track outside for the kids to race around. Unfortunately, it was a tad too hot outside so this was a fun, but short-lived activity.

Singing to the birthday boy. He covered his ears the entire time, but also had a big smile of his face while doing it.

It warmed all parent's hearts when the ripping open of presents was stalled to read a book.

All the kids loved "helping" Owen open his presents. Owen was a trooper and didn't mind the help one bit.

Getting to talk with you today AND seeing these pictures. A great day, to be sure! :0) Owen looks so happy in all of these pictures, he must of had a really, really fantastic birthday. So this is the 500th post! That's hard to believe, isn't it? I can remember so many of them as I sit here and think back. Some of them literally made me laugh out loud . . . and some of them made me cry. I'll never forget the one where you had photo-shopped curley black hair onto his head (he was about four months old) and he had this big smile on his face. I absolutely thought you had put a wig on him, and boy did I laugh out loud. I couldn't believe it!! The one you just posted where he was so sick made me cry. Now that I think of it, the one with the three of you at Staci's wedding made me cry, too, you all looked so beautiful. I love you guys, thanks for all the work to keep this going. Life would NOT be the same without it! Love, Mom / Grandma Bug

Wow, good job on the awsome looking birthday party!! Fun idea for the extra wood from the shadow box too. O has some very inventive parents! Kudos to you two. And happy to hear the day was fantastic for Owen. The sun looks great. Throw some up our way please.
Love, Trina
