Owen has started to enjoy sitting up. He still needs assistance so we often sit him in the Boppy or prop him up against pillows. He is getting pretty good at holding his head up but it can still be a little heavy for him. (His "melon ball" as we lovingly call his head.)
We make sure to place Owen in the middle of the bed and keep a close eye on him because without fail, this is what happens:
He tips over. It is adorable to watch. He is sitting quietly and then his heads starts tipping slowly... slowly... and the next thing you know he is on his face. The funny thing is that he doesn't get upset. He just lays there like a little rag doll waiting to be propped up again.
Such a cutie.

Keep on trying and it won't be long before you have that "sitting program" mastered!

Of course, it is so much more comfortable to be on your tummy than on your back . . .
Still, you're sitting him up pretty darn early . . . don't you think . . . most babies don't actually sit up until they're about four months old. Still, it can't hurt for him to start to feel what it's like to be sitting up . .
You should know, Suneela asked me the other day if Owen will be crawling when we were down there the end of July . . . I said, "Of course not, sweetheart. Babies can't crawl until they're about six months old."
But, now I have to ask. Do you think Owen will be crawling before the end of July? Good heavens, I certainly don't think so!

He gets this talent from his Uncle David. Always keep him near soft things. At least as long as your health insurance covers him.
